Ready Player One (Movie) Review: Cinema as Escape
Tuesday Feb 08, 2022
Tuesday Feb 08, 2022
Ready Player One was released in 2018 and was directed by Steven Spielberg. If you long for nostalgia and the opportunity to see your favorite video game, television, movie and comic book characters crowding a screen then Ready Player One is the movie for you. This movie seems to have no message besides being critical of escapism, which is what the movie itself is trying to be.

Wednesday Feb 02, 2022
Wednesday Feb 02, 2022
Ready Player Two was written by Ernest Cline and is the sequel to his undeservingly well received Ready Player One. Though we were able to find some bright spots in this book it suffers from all the same problems as it's predecessor. Poor writing, unlikable characters and not a single original idea to be found. So sit back, relax and enjoy part one of our book club discussion of Ready Player Two.

Don’t Look Up Review: It Feels too Real
Saturday Jan 29, 2022
Saturday Jan 29, 2022
Don't Look Up was directed by Adam McKay who is known for political comedies like Vice (2018) and The Big Short (2015) as well as straight forward comedies such as The Other Guys (2010) and Anchorman (2004). The wacky premise of this film speaks to the directors growing concern over climate change but it can really be used as a commentary on any politically or socially charged issue. This film is either too real to be funny or so real that all you can do is laugh.

Tenet Review: A Guided Tour Through Spectacle
Saturday Jan 22, 2022
Saturday Jan 22, 2022
Tenet is directed by Christopher Nolan and did not save cinema. The film was released in September of 2020 and met a mediocre reception in theaters because it was put out in the worst time possible and not because it's a bad movie. While it has it has it's problems narratively, this film is without a doubt a visual spectacle. If you want to sit back and watch a fun movie that tricks you into thinking it's smart than Tenet is the film for you.

Edge of Tomorrow Review: Or is it Live. Die. Repeat?
Saturday Jan 15, 2022
Saturday Jan 15, 2022
Edge of Tomorrow hit theaters in 2014 and stars Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt. This Ground Hog Day action packed syfy film was directed by Doug Liman and it's engaging from start to finish. For a big budget science fiction film it has a surprising amount of good humor that fits in well with the wacky premise. This one goes down as an NTIP favorite and we highly recommend you see this one if you haven't already.
